Project Description

WOMAN IN VEILS  –   Sculpture by Salvador Dali

Woman in veils

She personifies rhythm and dance.  Perhaps she is dancing girl from the East, or a water nymph from the temple of Angkor Vat.

The veil merges into the body of the dancer, and is like an enormous muscle transmitting the thousand and one vibrations of the woman.

Dali offers us one of the polymorphic figures which he is so fond of, but the result here is the almost indissoluble union between the material and the living being.

Dance, is here the magic key which makes the veil come alive, acquiring varied forms and shapes, like a magic aura around her body.
